A Panchayat is a body of elected representatives formed to manage the administrative affairs of Panchayat Raj institutions. For a Grama Panchayat (village panchayat), it is the primary committee that implements the decisions of the Grama Sabha (village assembly) and carries out day-to-day administration.The main components of a Panchayat are:President: The head of the Panchayat.
